There are many things in this life we consider treasures. Perhaps like me you have some jewelry from ancestors passed down to you that you treasure.
When I look at those pieces, I remember why I treasure them. They make me smile and feel good. They remind me of someone who impacted my life by love and laughter.
But we all know things are not what we should treasure. It’s people. Those we love and those who love us.
The word treasured is used only 10 times in the NIV Bible. Six of those time it is used to describe God’s people to Him. His treasured possession.
We are God’s treasured possession.
Do we feel like treasures? Do we make God smile? When He looks at you and me does He feel love?
“Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven.”
