Constant

When we are kids, life is forever changing. We are growing physically, emotionally, and hopefully, spiritually. We change grades each year in school. We change sports each season. So many wonderful changes when we are young!

Then, we long for the days things will be the same when we are older. But…

I’m not sure why as I get older things seem to be changing more. You’d think as one gets older, there would be more constants in life. But that is not the case I am finding in my own life.

Our kids leave. Our parents grow old and eventually leave. Our bodies change. Other things as well.

Maybe I’m the only one, but it seems as if there are no constants in my life right now.

Then I remember. There is One constant in my life and always will be. I remember if I focus on that One constant, things will be okay no matter what changes. It’s hard to do this some days. It takes focus and constant prayer.

I need to remember…Hebrews 13:8: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
