Discouragement

Yesterday, our preacher quoted Marvin J. Ashton, “Satan is ever present, trying to destroy our glory and remove our crown. One of his most powerful tools is discouragement. Don’t let your discouragement make Satan rejoice.”

We’ve all felt it. Things happen in this world that make us sad, down, or discouraged. I don’t want to make Satan rejoice because of some way I feel or something I’ve done. What can we do?

The theme for the sermon yesterday was 1 Thessalonians 4:18, “Therefore, encourage one another with these words.” Do we encourage each other enough? Do we say positive things to each other enough to take away the negative this world and others put into our hearts and minds?

Do we read the most encouraging book ever written? The Bible is God’s encouraging words to us. Have you ever received a love letter? The Bible is God’s love letter to us!

Be encouraging today to someone, even if all you have is a smile to give.
