Who Cares?

According to BibleGateway.com, the word ‘heart’ appears 725 times in the NIV. I believe it is a very important word today as well as when Jesus walked this earth. I believe the heart is the key to almost everything.

We need to have ‘heart’ for doing scary and difficult things. Here in the south we say “Bless your heart.” And our hearts break.

It is the broken heart that is on my mind. How many, many times our hearts get broken in this world. Our friends, family, spouses, children, etc. break our hearts over and over. It seems the ones we are closed to and love the most are the ones that hurt us the most.

There is a song “What Becomes of the Broken Hearted” by Jimmy Ruffin. One line of the lyrics is ‘I’ll be searching everywhere just to find someone to care.” Sometimes it seems like the whole world is hurting because it is!

There is only One who truly cares. The world is searching for Him. satan blinds us to Him. We get angry. We are selfish. We think there’s plenty of time. So we do whatever we want in our searching.

“Every day heartaches grow a little stronger
I can’t stand this pain much longer. I know I’ve got to find
Some kind of peace of mind.”

I pray you have peace in your heart. I pray your searching is over. I pray you have come or will come to the One who ends our searching.

Who cares? He does!
