I’ve mentioned before in my blog about growing up with 3 older siblings and having to listen to their music. That is why I like music from the 60’s and 70’s. There is a song by the Steve Miller Band called Time Keeps On Slippin‘ that I thought a lot about yesterday.
It’s been years since I’ve been there, but yesterday we visited the Burton farm near Carthage, TN. Chris’ grandmother lived there but is now in a nursing home. The old Burton cemetery is there, and here is what it looked like when we arrived and after the guys weed-eated it!
It was overgrown so much so, the headstones were barely visible.
I thought a lot about time. They say ‘time waits for no man’ and it’s true! Time is running out whether we want to think about it or not. We need to use the time we have left to get our own lives right with God first. Then we need to tell others about Jesus and what He has done for us and them. Don’t wait.
Because one day it’s going to be too late. Jesus will be here for us!
