Do you have it? Are you peaceful? Does it come easy for you?
I know as a Christian we are not supposed to worry and be afraid, but it is very hard to do that sometimes. The circumstances of this life keep us from having the peace that Jesus can give us. He left it for us. One of my favorite verses in the Bible is John 16:33:
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
Nothing and nobody in this world can give us peace even though we look for it in many ways. Drugs, alcohol, sex, money, things, people. They will never, ever satisfy our hearts like having a relationship with the God who saved us and our Savior, Jesus, who died for us.
I have to work at it every single day to remember and strive for that peace that passes all understanding. I am comforted to know that God will never give up on me, no matter what.
Only through Jesus can we overcome the world because He did it first!
