What constitutes being a nerd? Is it wearing glasses? Is it not being athletic and making good grades? Nerds have always been teased and made fun of whether in real life or on the big screen.
Webster defines a nerd as an unstylish, unattractive, or socially inept person. But it also defines a nerd as one slavishly devoted to intellectual or academic pursuits. It is the second one that I like to focus on when I say, I love nerds!
I married a nerd and have been blessed that he has taken care of us in our almost 30 years of marriage. I tell my girls to marry a nerd! I hope my girls turn into nerds! I wish I had become a nerd sooner, but better late than never!
So, if you get called a nerd, say thanks and take it as a compliment. The person saying it is probably jealous!
