Hold Fast

There are too many things in this life to name that try to bring us down daily. satan knows just what to do. he knows what to show us. he knows what it is going to take to break us.

But we have Jesus, and He has us.

satan tries to steal my joy. I know it. I can feel it. That is where he attacks me. Not so much with temptations but through hard life experiences or physical illness. he wants me to give up in some way or another.

The battle is against him. he wants us to let go. I see he tries to use the things that will take us away from God. he tries to take us down emotionally and physically.

But we need to recognize it and decide to hold on. As the song says, hold on to the One that is holding us.

The book of Hebrews in the Bible is all about us holding on until the end. Chapter 10 verse 23 says: Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.

I like the concept of ‘hold fast.’ It is defined as ‘remain tightly secured’ or ‘continue to believe in or adhere to an idea or principle.’

We hold fast to Jesus and choose to continue to believe in Him. And I like to think He is holding fast to me and continuing to believe in me, in my love for Him, in my dedication to Him. He is encouraging me to never give up.

I will fail. I do all the time. But He knows my heart. He knows I am trying my best to hold fast.

So, today as you are being attacked, hold fast. Hold on!
