The Airport

Don’t you just love the airport? I do! There are so many people going so many places! It’s the best place besides the mall to ‘people watch.’ People from all over the world are coming and going. The places to go are limitless!

This morning I had to go to the airport to pick up a couple of family members. As I waited there at the edge of the security, I watched the people. There was a family speaking another language waiting for their loved one with flowers, smiles, and hugs. There was a single lady with a smile on her face waiting on a man. There was also a limo driver holding a sign with a lady’s name on it. When she came, she acknowledged him and the sign. He introduced himself and said “Welcome to Nashville!”

I couldn’t help but think what will it be like when we get ‘home?’ Of course, I’m talking about Heaven. What will it be like? Who will be waiting? The loved ones who’ve gone on before us? Will my daddy be there waiting with hugs and kisses beside Jesus!? Will Jesus be standing there with a sign that has my name on it ready to take me to the room He’s made for me?

My mind cannot wrap itself around the idea of what it will be like, but aren’t you glad we have a Savior that has prepared a place for us? Maybe He’ll have a sign as well and say “Welcome to Heaven. Come in! We’ve been waiting for you!”
