Pain

There is a disease called CIPA, Congenital Insensitivity to Pain. Can you imagine having this disease and feeling no pain ever…well, at least physical pain? I cannot.

Unfortunately, I am in physical pain every single day of my life. Most people cannot imagine the toil it takes on my mind, much less my body. Last night I went to an exercise class with my sister. It was so much fun! But boy am I paying for it. Sometimes my mind says “You can still do that.” Then my body says “NOOOOO!” Needless to say, I’m going to stick with my walking and hand weights.

But being in pain every single day has a positive too. It has brought me closer to God. It has improved my prayer life. He is the only one I can complain the most to who will understand because He sees. I feel Him tell me “My grace is sufficient for you.” This is such a blessing to me. Knowing He sees me in all my messed-up-ness, understands, and loves me anyway!

So, when the physical, emotional or any other pain hits you, remember the One who sees, knows, and extends all the grace you’ll ever need as we cry out to Him!
