Worried?

I know why God doesn’t want us to worry. It makes us so very unhealthy. It affects every part of our bodies until we can be literally sick to death.

So, what are we supposed to do? How do we not worry about our spouse, parents, kids, friends, money, etc.? There’s a long list of things about which we worry!

Paul said in Philippians 4:

Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life. (The Message)

Don’t worry. It’s not a suggestion. It’s a command!

But how? Pray!

God wants to hear from us. The Creator of everything and everyone is waiting to listen to you and me as we pour out our worries to Him. He is ready to take them on for us.

And He is capable-so much more capable than you and I-to take them from us!

For me and I am sure for you too, it is a constant decision to give those nagging worries to God. Minute by minute I have to remind myself that God is in control and He’s got this.

Faith in Him is the only thing that matters. It is the only thing that sustains us mentally and emotionally. Otherwise, I think I would go crazy.

Turn all your cares over to Him.

He has big shoulders!
