Absolutely!

What or who do you think of when you hear the word love? Do you think of those that love you or those you love? Maybe you think of God and His love?

Is love a verb or a noun? I think it is both but maybe more of a verb.

The Bible calls God’s love agape love. One definition I found of agape love is ‘absolute love.’ Think about that for a minute.

Absolute!

Love!

The word absolute is defined as:

free from imperfection; complete; perfect; not mixed or adulterated; pure; outright; free from restriction or limitation; not limited in any way.

There is no limit or restriction in absolute love.

But what does absolute love look like?

It is the wife who mourns for the love of her life after his death. It is the children who honor their parents by taking care of them in their old age. It is the husband who nurses his wife after many illnesses. It is the friend who brings you coffee the morning you have to take your mom to the hospital for surgery very early. It is the sibling who sits with you in difficult times.

But the ultimate absolute love is…

Jesus on the cross for you and me!
