Time

Someone recently asked me if I would ever go back in time maybe to being a teenager and do it over again. I replied that the only way I’d ever go back is to be able to take the knowledge I have now, such as it is, and perhaps change some things of the past.

I guess we all feel that way to some degree. There are things we would do over if we could, and there are things we got right that we wouldn’t change at all.

It is a moot point though, because we cannot change the time that has passed. In the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon says life is meaningless. I get what he was saying. The things we worry about are meaningless in the long run. We have to learn to let go and give them to God. Otherwise, we make ourselves sick spiritually, physically and mentally.

The older I get, the faster time goes. I have regrets that make me wish I could go back, and I have things that I remember that make me smile. We all do. So, how do we get through each day without going crazy or making ourselves sick? I’m still working on it, but I know the One who helps me.

Time will keep on moving whether we want it to or not. That is the way God made this world. But I know one day it will stop. I want to be ready for that day when time is no more.
