Yeah, I get it!

When I was younger, before I had any of my own kids, I would make a comment about my own mother out of frustration only to have my sister say, “You’ll understand when you have kids of your own.”

How true that statement!

I saw a post on Facebook the other day from a friend that I haven’t talked with in years. In her post she was frustrated with one of her kids. She was frustrated with God. I ended up private messaging her just to let her know she isn’t alone and I would be praying.

I get it! You can try to explain it to those who aren’t parents, and I know for a fact there are those who work with kids that love them like they are their own, but for the most part, you don’t get it unless you are a parent. When you love that child or those children so much that sometimes it’s hard to breathe.

I think that is how God loves us. I think that is why we have the parent child relationship. So we can see a small portion of maybe how God felt as Jesus was on the cross for us sinners. To watch His Son in pain and choose not to do anything about it, knowing this is what has to be. We get to feel a little bit of the pain especially when our children make mistakes, and we want so much to shake them and say ‘Wake up! Look at what you’re doing!’ But we know they have to make their own way.

So we watch and pray. And pray some more! Pray without ceasing!

Yeah, I get it…
